They must be clearly defined, such as lose thirty pound, not lose weight.
A time frame needs to be decided, lose thirty pounds in six months.
They have to be ambitious but attainable, because even if I don’t lose all thirty pounds I am likely to lose twenty or twenty five even if I quit midstream.
So I decided to revisit some of my previous posts and see how I’ve done in the past. Here is my 60 before 60 list, that I posted in May and have since forgotten about. (Note to self, print out list and post where I see it daily). Rereading this list, I some of these need to be re-written, I’ve changed the ink to blue on those.

I have given up on goals -- other than the daily variety. I do not accomplish much. But I have more fun. I guess that is a variety of goal.
My goals are to enjoy my life, be grateful for everything I have and be kind and helpful to all other beings.(this last one is a little tricky occasionally)
I do have a bucket list, but it is reliant on funds that I do not currently possess, so I don't like to think of them as goals. Actually moving to Mexico was on there, so I've already accomplished one.
Steve,
Muy Mexicano. Living in the present is always a good thing.
I think that major difference between us is that I have never had any problem being spontaneous, however, it's getting in my way now of stuff that I want to achieve.
I have stop being easily distracted (ooh look shiny!) and finish what I start. That doesn't mean that I can't change my mind, just that I don't want to be surrounded by a bunch of half done projects anymore.
Shannon,
Gratitude and happiness come easy to me. My major issue is lack of planning and forethought, so I am working on that.
Don't let lack of money stop you from achieving your bucket list. Money is a minor consideration, once all the basics are covered, of course. It's a matter of deciding exactly what you want and how to get it. I know that sounds kinda new age, but it if you really want to do something, you can figure out how to attain it. Oh, I don't mean at 60 you can become a prima ballerina but you can take ballet lessons. If you want to travel somewhere you can usually figure out how to do it if you want it bad enough, it may involve some sort of sacrifice and there in lies the rub.

Theresa
Thank you Theresa, for those words of encouragement. I hope you are right, and I will make an effort to make them happen!
Stop with the lists and see if you can accomplish a task combining what is connected. For instance, focus on what is related to clothing.
Carol,
Because I am goal oriented,I do better when I can cross things off a list. It also helps me organize my ideas and break them down into manageable parts.
Also, last but not least, it gives me a blog post.
regards,
Theresa
